March 6, 2018
1.  Please be sure to complete the following "Quick Write" using the required format.  Refer to your notes on Google Drive to insure you have completed it properly; this assignment will count as a test grade! 
                         Are the needs of people ever more important than the needs of animals and the planet?
To complete the above question, use "Rethinking the Wild" on page 356-357 in your text.

1.  Turn your outline into three complete body paragraphs.  If you do not have your homework, you will be unable to participate in the class activity tomorrow.

1.  Finish outlining the body of your argumentative essay.  You should have the following:

                                            - 3 supporting details per paragraph
                                            - 1 piece of evidence per supporting deatil

1.  Go to google classroom and join Eng. 7 Block 4 class by entering code: 2ilopwc
2.  Read "Neil deGrasse Tyson..." on pgs. 205-207 and use the color coding system to highlight the benefits/detriments of space exploration.  Then put the information into your chart in your own words.  
3.  Write an introductory paragraph for the following essay topic:
                          Should we spend valuable resources on space exploration?

1.  Please write a paragraphed response to the following unit thematic prompt:
                         Would you spend $250,000 on a ticket to go on a rocket to space? Why/why not?  
Remember, a good paragraph is 8-10 sentences and contains detailed specific information.  

All honors applications are due by February 20th!

1.  Pick any character from The Outsiders, that had a problem to overcome and write a paragraph describing the problem and how it affected to their life.  This will come in handy in the future, so do your very best and be sure to include textual evidence.

1.  Pick a character of your choice from chapters 1-7 of the novel, The Outsiders.  Write a character analysis ( at least a paragraph) using the terms in your notes.  
2.  Review notes on appositives, for some people will retake the quiz for some credit earned back.

November 8, 2017
1.  Correct your "Quick Write" using the feedback from our editing session today.  The final draft will count as a test grade and must have your rough draft and checklist attached to it.  You will receive 5 points extra credit if you type your final draft.  
2.  Read chapters 1 and 2 in The Outsiders and take notes because there will be a reading check on Tuesday.  
3.  Complete all vocabulary terms for chapters 1-3 in The Outsiders.

1.  Write a summary of the short story, "At the Crossroads" on page 230 in your text.  
2.  Answer the following question in a well structured paragraph (8-10 sentences) using textual evidence and a personal connection:
                                   In the short story, "At the Crossroads" it states that Nick, the protagonist, gave up his life of success for one of struggle and hardship.  Why is this so, and what would force somebody to take such drastic measures?
